forgot to mention, my 980 ti runs GTA5 on max settings minus grass "poor optimization" 80 - 120 Fps give or take at 1080p, i'll have to recheck that exact frames i just know it dosnt really ever dip below 80 unless im in a area with alot of grass.

sorry for the late reply.

I got my i7 2600k overclocked to 4.7Ghz Right now and so is my 980 Ti

Temps are about the same as yours but im on the H105 AIO cooler now, what voltage are you at to achieve your 5Ghz? for mine to be stable i got to put it to high so i settled for 4.7.

Going by the pictures the hard drive is installed the correct way.

Its a decent build to get you started and once you figure out them cables you will be set!

No it is not a bottlekneck by any means.

I got most of these parts 3 - 4 years ago when the 6th gen wasn't even thought of.

the 980 ti i got as a semi gift where i paid next to nothing for it.

holds up well actually, plays most games on high-ultra settings in 1080p mind you the wife plays at 720p as she uses the TV so she can max it all out.

great card.

should turn your rear fan around for exhaust seems like your cpu coolers fan is fighting with it as it is all your fans are intake.

weird, must have been flukes like any other updates that can mess anything up which could happen to any ssd i dont think i would not recommend them because of it because it could still happen during any update with any company.

also i update mine and never had problems i dunno i just think its harsh to not recommend the 840's when it could happen regardless.

my 840 is doing just fine, had had it for a year now still performs the same also used it in other builds that are also still going strong.

i'd recommend the 840's just the same as the newer 850's

Comment reply on mcbrybry's Completed Build: My First Gaming Rig

it could be its just better to have the fan on the other side pushing through the fins oppose to it pulling from them

Comment reply on mcbrybry's Completed Build: My First Gaming Rig

Well its typically better to have air going through the fins and if its set to intake its fighting the rear fan.

There is still more blue then red, so if anything i would change the red to blue on the card by taping it off and using a brush or something like the sort.

I dont see how really, the blue makes more sense then red as his motherboard has blue on it and so does the PSU only real red i see are the sata cables.

as a side note, when you upgrade to 10 simply restart after its done installing then download the latest drive after that all is good dunno why that happens but it does but a simple restart and install of the latest driver fixes it.

Does that psu not have all the needed cables to not have to use a molex adapter on the second card? and i dont know what the other ram modules are but i personally dont like to mix ram, if the other is slower then the 1600's they will run at that.

Comment reply on retardedpanda1's Completed Build: Le First PC Build

personly, i'd much rather have 2 hdd's over one massive one... reason being... the second one would be for storing files so IF the first drive fails alteast you got everything else on the other drive aslong as it dont die before the first one lol.

either way, having 2 drives is good if anything get an ssd or something later on down the road.

Not a bad build over all, however the cable management could use some work, i got the same case and there is so much you can do with it.

the cpu power cable could be ran behind to the upper left corner.

I got this same case, and i love it! Ya your cable management could use some work but overall its a nice build.

Getting an SSD down the road is up too you i personally love my SSD.

Also, yes it should boot from the HDD but depending on your board it may show up in the boot order as Windows Boot Manager as well.

As for the stand off in the middle of the case, its normal it actually keeps the board in place so you dont got to fight with it during the install.
