James you suck
How's that MSI card for you? I'm debating between that and the Sapphire.
I have an R9 280X, would that be able to run games at 120 hz?
What are the different HZ?
Thanks for the reply!
I'll change that GPU right away, I knew it was cheap.
The 4670 is still a really strong chip, and he spends the same price using gas to get the part.
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
I'll keep it in mind though.
The nearest micro store is 60+ miles away, and he doesn't need a beefy processor (he's not compiling code or anything like that, the machine is pure gaming).
You put this in the wrong thread.
Please move this to "Build a parts list for me".
You put this under the wrong thread.
Post it in "Build a parts list for me".
Haha no problem, happens to us all.
You put this thread in the wrong forum.
Build a parts list for me would've been more accurate.
Can I call you Mr. Fagote?
You could SLI the 760 by buying another one and an SLI mobo...
DOes it support more than 3 screens?
Thanks for the help! :D
I have little to no experience with pc building, I'm just looking at stated facts.
How do you know this?
If you want to run 3 1080p monitors, that's 1920 x 3240
The R9 290's max res on digital is 4096 x 2160
I don't know much about resolutions, but that sounds really sketchy.
Won't let me edit. But I wanted to say you might want to get a bigger psu and crossfire 2 of them.
Performance peaks at 1866 ram with cl 8 or 9, then drops a bit at 2133
Hmm. I'll consider that.
The main reason that I didn't want their Ares series is because it's so plain. lol.
I know that it's cheap but I want to match my color scheme and other things.
Well it'd be nice to know what the computer is going to be used for.
That great of an i7 would be insane overkill for gaming.
An i5 would easily suit your needs (4670k)
IMO, 2133 RAM isn't as good as 1866 low cl on an Intel CPU. Just me though.
I'd buy a 760 or R9 280/R9 280X and wait for the 800 series, considering your gigantic budget.
Other than that it seems fine.
Thanks for all the help :D
The XFX card is sold out on newegg, so I think I'll buy my other components then the GPU last.
Thanks for the advice!
My friends recommended XFX over sapphire.
EDIT : NEWEGG HAS INCORRECT INFO.
THE MEM CLOCKS ARE THE SAME AFTER REFERENCING SITES.
Probably newegg or Amazon.
By "the same" did you mean the memory clocks?
I put into google's calculator and it said that 1000 mhz is equivalent to
1 ghz, so wouldn't that mean the XFX has a memory clock 6x faster?
I hope it's worth the $10 lol
It's actually a budget build lol.
The only reason for a high end gpu and other components is free CPU.
SSD for xmas though.
Haha no problem we all miss things.
I just said I can use the USB 2.0 headers.
Sorry, but I wanted to get as much feedback as possible. My bad.
Thanks for the reply! I had it figured out, I just forgot that I had USB 2.0 headers.
I can use the USB 2.0 headers.
Good point, I missed that.
2 USB 3.0 and 6 USB 2.0.
It's just that I can't find the headers.
Well, first it depends on your budget.
If you're on a lower budget (which it looks like due to your gpu), you want the AMD for lower price.
Now. AMD APU's tend to sacrifice computing power for their integrated graphics (which are outstanding btw).
You'd probably want to switch to their FX series (FX-6300?)
Obviously, if you had the budget, you'd go for the intel.
What are those monitors?
Not exactly true. Z97 allows for future upgrades to other processors, as well as other features like sata express, m.2, etc.
Did you not read the description?
My motherboard doesn't support triple channel ram.
And yes this rig is for gaming.
Do you have any recommendations/changes for any parts?
You're missing the point. The R9 280 is the equivalent of the gtx 760. 770 is comparable to 280x. I need to know your budget to be able to get maximum performance.
Lol I was assuming we could find one (seeing as though the XFX R9 280X is the same price as a gtx 760), but if not, you still save $50 with no performance drop.

Logitech G600 has 12 macros, 3 mouse buttons, and a corded wire + really great feel (personal experience) Also it is backlit and can be changed to any color.
Amazing scroll wheel, perfectly weighted, dpi changeable.
Edit - Also quite a large mouse.
Swap to i5-4670k, difference between 4690k and 4670k is not noticeable. $20 off.
H60 doesn't provide more cooling than hyper 212 evo/plus. You need high end water cooling to feel the difference. $30 off.
Upgrade to a low end R9 290 with the extra $50?
