I personally love MSI products. They support both Intel and AMD choices so you can go with whatever you please. As soon as I saw this contest I jumped at the opportunity because my PC stopped working, I think it's because of the power supply and demanding graphics cards (2 GTX 470s in SLI, not so good). Because my PC broke, I'm forced to use an extremely old PC designed for Windows XP, Intel i2 Core Duo and a GeForce 8800 which all together can't run any modern game in 1080p even at the lowest graphic settings. So let's get right to the part selections shall we? If you like this build please up-vote it so I have a chance, I plan on keeping and using this build till it doesn't let me.
Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor- The i5-6600k is more than enough for heavy gaming and productivity builds. It has a factory clock speed of 3.5GHz and can be correctly overclocked to 4.0GHz if you have a good cooler.
LEPA AquaChanger 240 103.6 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler- I absolutely love this water cooler, it has red/orange LEDs that will definitely give the build a nice spice. Should allow some good CPU overclocking.
MSI Z170A GAMING M7 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard- I fell in love with this motherboard as soon as I saw it. It's a beautiful glossy red and black MOBO with DDR4 ram slots. I wouldn't choose anything else.
G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory- Nice and sexy ram that will match the red&black theme of the build.
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive- Solid state drive for the operating system and anything else you'd want to load/open faster like games or photos. And for around $100 which is AMAZING.
Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive- A nice 1TB 7200RPM high quality hard drive. (Plus it has a cool name so +1)
MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card- Ah the main piece, this is an amazing graphics card. It has a backplate, 3 display ports, one hdmi, and 1 dvi. This is an insane GPU for gaming and will run any game in 1080p60fps. And this card also supports 4-way slip for those who want an even better experience.
Corsair 760T Black ATX Full Tower Case- Nice and sleek case from corsair that includes a window perfect for showing of your build. This case has plenty of room for cable management and future upgrades too. Would recommend this case.
EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply- A good fully modular power supply that will give more than enough power for all the components.
Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit)- I think it's best to prepare for the future and get Windows 10. Everything looks modern and streamlined and it also runs optimized games faster.
Asus MX239H 23.0" Monitor- A nice 1080p monitor with slim bezels and an IPS display. Good views.
That's all for my build, really hope you like my choices. Feel free to give me criticisms and feedback. Thank you! =)
