maxy1503's Completed Build: First build for work/gaming

Smiley119 3 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Great build you got there bud +1 ...but ...since You're Down Under you could try your hand at the used market in Australia. I'll be honest at $59 AUD it's seems kinda dear for the performance you get compared to what you can find on sites like gum tree .

Smiley119's Completed Build: Nyuu's UPDATE ^-^

Smiley119 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 31 months ago

I was told by the Folks at memory express that the "PSU fried your MOBO" in hind sight the EVGA PSU probably wasn't the problem and the folks at memory express didn't know what the real problem. I recently used a EVGA PSU for another build and was quite impressed ...

In the future I will be using either EVGA or Corsair for my builds whichever one suits my budget

Smiley119's Completed Build: Nyuu's UPDATE ^-^

Smiley119 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 34 months ago

Nyuu is best waifu :3. when it comes down to GPU choice depends on what sort of performance you're looking for. R9 390 and 960 both are medium to high settings cards for current games. R7 370 and 950 are capable at medium settings

I'd say if you want performance both R9 380 or 960 they're both great performance either way

All I have is Fallout 4 as a fairly recent game ... I'm kinda broke for anything else at this point however I'm fairly certain there are videos out there to that have benchmarks for this card

I did not need to update any bios it was pretty much plug and play.

The Mother Board I bought on new egg http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131878&AID=10657534&PID=3

As for the R9 280X I bought locally via Kijiji

Sorry no I don't have video of me building in this case. I'm not very good/fast/ experienced at building . However I would say the case is very novice friendly.

Great case for the dollar ... I would build in it again ... assuming I get a smaller GPU next time

Smiley119 3 Builds 1 point 38 months ago

GT 610 doesn't exactly really scream "gaming card" .. depending on the resolution it'd get the job done :d

Gratz on your first completed build :)

PS If you get some more dosh in the future and plan to play more demanding games the R7265/R7 370/750Ti are all fair choices

Gooberdad's Completed Build: 1983 Apple IIe

Smiley119 3 Builds 1 point 39 months ago

Wow this is quite an ancient piece of tech ... it's older than me. Kinda suprised it's still in working order considering that its age. Considering the raw power of the tech a the time ... does she run hot at all?

Smiley119's Completed Build: Nyuu's UPDATE ^-^

Smiley119 submitter 3 Builds 2 points 43 months ago

I don't think this MOBO can do SLI ... crossfire is there because the way AMD does their dual GPUs a bit different and reading the spec sheet it doesn't look like it can

Smiley119's Completed Build: Nyuu's UPDATE ^-^

Smiley119 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 47 months ago

Awkward how so?

Smiley119's Completed Build: Nyuu's UPDATE ^-^

Smiley119 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 47 months ago

Might have not been EVGA's fault but that's what the guys at Memory express told me the PSU was at fault for fry my MOBO and CPU. Regardless I will be stay away for a while and stick with corsair

Sweet build man question about the Kingston how would your rate her?

Meyin's Completed Build: Sam Gamgee, aka The Steam Box

Smiley119 3 Builds 2 points 48 months ago

Great build you got here mate. I would suggest forgoing the DUAL Graphics and just go for a mid tier GPU like a R7 260 to R9 270

Smiley119's Completed Build: Nyuu's UPDATE ^-^

Smiley119 submitter 3 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

I like it quite a bit ...mind you it's kinda a simple one of (Low)-(OFF)-(High). Install of the Noctua was actually quite easy since AMD only has the one size(I installed it before if put it in the case) quite quite too -^
