Novakainer's Completed Build: Novakaine

Velcade 3 Builds 2 points 10 days ago

How loud are those industrial fans? I keep wanting to get them but I don't want my PC to sound like a freakin' rocket.

Grab yourself a monitor arm and reclaim some of that desk space.

Delid that sucka! 60 to 70 just gaming is pretty damn high.

Nice build. The Define case is great for water cooling.

Velcade's Completed Build: i5-9600k build

Velcade submitter 3 Builds 2 points 17 days ago

Seasonic ULTRA prime PSUs are amazing. I'll never buy anything else again.

Velcade's Completed Build: i5-9600k build

Velcade submitter 3 Builds 1 point 22 days ago

It's not bad. I like the cherry brown keys and the battery life is great. It's my wife's setup so I don't use it too often but when I was setting it up it was nice.

TonsofPuppies's Completed Build: My Very First PC Build!

Velcade 3 Builds 1 point 26 days ago

Very cool build. Enjoy

Odd choices in components...

+1 for cat

madforit's Completed Build: My disco machine

Velcade 3 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Damn! I hope this thing sells like hot cakes.

Still waiting to see what EVGA does for hybrids this series. ASUS with the launch of their AIOs might have hybrids in the future. Fingers Crossed

madforit's Completed Build: My disco machine

Velcade 3 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

ASUS steals my heart for mobos. But their GPUs this time around are meh for appearance.

AORUS seems to be making the best looking 20series cards at the moment. Nice build +1

Velcade's Completed Build: i5-9600k build

Velcade submitter 3 Builds 2 points 2 months ago

Thanks! You could not fit another stick under the cooler. The fan blocks the closest RAM slot.

I was surprised at how big the cooler was since it isn't the 'pro' but damn does the thing work great. Temps are fantastic and the silentwings fans are stupid quiet.

Velcade's Completed Build: i5-9600k build

Velcade submitter 3 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

board is great. my only issue was with my sata m.2 drive but that was fixed easily.

Velcade's Completed Build: i5-9600k build

Velcade submitter 3 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

No issues. I choose not to use it here because I am using a HSF and it blows enough air over the VRM.

If you look at my other build I did install the VRM fan because I went water cooled.

Velcade's Completed Build: i5-9600k build

Velcade submitter 3 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

I gotcha. I selected the wrong keyboard. Nice catch.

I do have a 60% board that I use for test boots but it's not wireless.

Velcade's Completed Build: i5-9600k build

Velcade submitter 3 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

What 60% keyboard are you talking about?

Velcade's Completed Build: i5-9600k build

Velcade submitter 3 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

If you're going to run an AIO watch for clearance issues with the GPU. Otherwise it's a fantastic case to build in. Very easy to work with. I did pull the front IO and reroute it through a different hole to keep the cables out of the way but other than that it's great.

Weppe's Completed Build: 8086k & 1080Ti out 9900k & 2080Ti in

Velcade 3 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Damn that's a sexy board! Makes me want to upgrade my Z370.

CPU CLOCK RATE: 2147483.65GHz

Do you have temps under load? I'm surprised the Corsair H100i can handle the heat output.

What voltage did you use to achieve such an overclock?

Eliray12's Completed Build: Simple Custom Water Cooling Loop (Soft Tubing)

Velcade 3 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

70'C under load when you haven't delidded the CPU is great.

Eliray12's Completed Build: Simple Custom Water Cooling Loop (Soft Tubing)

mmmm... toasty! What program are you running for your "under load" temps? The temp is crazy low.

Nice build. What voltage are you running at 5.1GHz

Forum Topic "Which is better for gaming? Samsung 970 EVO or PRO"

Velcade 3 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

For gaming? Get an SATA SSD. Save a little or if you're dead set on spending >$300 grab a 2TB SATA SSD and you'll be set for a while.

Forum Topic "Poll: What Mouse Grip Do You Use?"

Velcade 3 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Going off the definition I found online I'd say I'm a claw gripper. I use a Razer Deathadder.

SweetVandal's Completed Build: max-cap.v2.0-bsg

Velcade 3 Builds 2 points 4 months ago

Water cooling the 2080 should help keep those temps down. The new founders cards look sharp from the backside. Nice build.

Forum Topic "Asus Strix GTX 1080 normal or Advanced?"

Velcade 3 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

It's probably the only one left. I'd get the advanced. It has a higher clock speed out of the box so you'll get a little more performance.

Forum Topic "Asus Strix GTX 1080 normal or Advanced?"

Velcade 3 Builds 3 points 4 months ago

The advanced has a higher base clock and one more HDMI port.

AC1DFOX's Completed Build: Hyrule Warrior - Zelda Themed Build

Velcade 3 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Great build. I love clean white builds. I have a question though. You're GPU brace seems too low to do anything? Is it touching your GPU shroud?

Forum Topic "CPU Overheating at idle?"

Velcade 3 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

"Every PC cooler comes with a little bit of thermal paste neatly applied around the cooler but it's usually not enough. It's good PC building practice to add extra and layer it on top of the CPU." /s

Sounds like a heatsink issue. Try reseating the HSF and applying new thermal paste. If this is your first build watch a few videos to get an idea of the appropriate amount. (around the size of a pea).

blackzaru's Completed Build: Keeping it classy. A black and white themed build.

'>$200 in fans. Respect +1

How loud are those industrial fans? I've got a Meshify C case sitting around that I'd like to populate with Noctua Industrials...

Major-G8tor's Completed Build: NAS Mini-ITX C236 Home Server 2018 Build

Velcade 3 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

I'll check Lian Li out, thanks. I also plan on keeping this in the basement. I can't seem to find this case, I wonder if it's discontinued.

I might go Fractal Design, their Node 304 seems like a good NAS case too.

Thanks for the reply.
