Ooooooweeee that's nice. Well done sir. Damn this needs an NSFW flag.

Which coolant is that?

$2k, Basically cost.

Oh don't worry, I don't think we're alone haha.

bmccarthy8989 submitter 10 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

It's been a blast! They asked if I would be a judge next year, should be nice to take a break.

That's the best part about wood working. Someones eye sore is another mans beauty! Wood is just so unique it's always one of a kind.

bmccarthy8989's Completed Build: Whooop! Quakecon Themed Build

bmccarthy8989 submitter 10 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

Thanks! Just checked out some of your builds. Some damn fine work man.

bmccarthy8989's Completed Build: Whooop! Quakecon Themed Build

bmccarthy8989 submitter 10 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

Yeah, that's what I caught flack on on other social sites. But I couldn't agree more, it still handles games just fine. That card has so much meaning to me. Mainly because it was my first big GPU purchase since the 8800GTs! I'll probably hold on to it for a long time just for nostalgic purposes :p

dixonerfais's Completed Build: Patience.

bmccarthy8989 10 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

So glad to hear you got your dream build! And I wouldn't worry about the 2080. Your decision in the 1080ti is SOLID. These next cards will most likely be marginally better anyways. Sold build, sold mods, solid builder. Bravo.

bmccarthy8989's Completed Build: Project Breadbox

bmccarthy8989 submitter 10 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

Photoshop, there is a built in utility that allows me to do it quickly. Basically a batch process that resizes them to a width of 1200px which is enough to reduce the file size significantly while still maintaining enough resolution for web browsers.

bmccarthy8989's Completed Build: Project Breadbox

bmccarthy8989 submitter 10 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

lol the whole build is some where in the 3 to 400 hour range. Lost some track of time when I nearly cut my finger off. The upload took no time at all. I pre-order them in windows and resize them to around 12kb each before upload.

pipe's Completed Build: ITX Ryzen 2600X / GTX 1080

bmccarthy8989 10 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

Excellent work on the cable management. I appreciate those who spend a little extra time on that.

Now just remove that PSU sticker and everything will be fine :p

How much did it cost? Or how much is it for sale? haha

Eltech's Completed Build: Leonard

bmccarthy8989 10 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

I tend to "ramble" on a lot when I enjoy something or taking notes along the way when I discovered something or an issue occurs but solvable.

IMO, those are the posts that PCPP needs. The site was built as an educational tool to help the uninformed to learn how to build computers. You're a great example of a community member furthering that goal. It's one of the reasons why I put a lot of effort into explaining my mods and answering questions, I learned by example ;).

Eltech's Completed Build: Leonard

bmccarthy8989 10 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

When I see your builds I can't help but think they should be the template for what a post on PCPP should be. I mean holy cow. I love your attention to detail. I could/will learn a lot from your example.

bmccarthy8989's Completed Build: Whooop! Quakecon Themed Build

bmccarthy8989 submitter 10 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

Hey man that's all that matters. It shows when modders pay attention to detail. Would love to see a build log if you have one. I'll be sure and check out the rest of your builds when I have some free time.

bmccarthy8989's Completed Build: Whooop! Quakecon Themed Build

bmccarthy8989 submitter 10 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

Appreciate that. Some times the fun part about modding is that cool features happen as a result of necessity (referring to the counter bored holes).

bmccarthy8989's Completed Build: Whooop! Quakecon Themed Build

bmccarthy8989 submitter 10 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

Hahaha, thanks man. I love my clamps. The dewalt table saw has handled pretty much everything I've thrown at it. It handled the re-saw of the walnut and maple without issue. The main reason for purchasing it is was pricing and its Rack and Pinion fence system. The biggest downside is the arbor is not big enough for a dada stack :(. That'll probably be my next upgrade.

Will always have a special place in my heart for a loop in an S340. It's where it all began for me! Same color scheme too! You pulled off some tough bends, very nicely done.

+1 just for using Singularity Computers parts. And another +1 for the build why not. Wish we could see whats going on behind closed doors if you know what I mean.

RiZeR187's Completed Build: Tiny OC project --> 8700k @5ghz and 1080 ti stable@2100.5 mhz :)

bmccarthy8989 10 Builds 2 points 12 months ago

Congrats on featured. Props for doing all those bends, I know what this is like, believe me. Was there not enough room to mount the res vertically? Looks great by the way, I just wish I could like the alphacool block, but I just can't get behind their choice of aesthetic (total personal preference and has no real bearing on your build what so ever)

Keith_Horton's Completed Build: SuperNova - The Hardline Watercooled Computer Of My Dreams

bmccarthy8989 10 Builds 2 points 12 months ago

Really well done man. I can appreciate when someone else does good cable management. A must in all my builds. As you were building it all I could think about was $ $ $ $ $ $ and another $, then it just made me realize how much I've sunk into my builds! damnit! haha great job!

Nuckles_56's Completed Build: Blackwood: An exercise in frustration and elation

bmccarthy8989 10 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

I see wood case, I upvote! Our builds could be siblings! The figure in the front plate looks awesome. I think I'd like to build a wooden case for my HTPC now. Great job!

bmccarthy8989's Completed Build: Miami Hurricanes

bmccarthy8989 submitter 10 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

I modified the case to allow me to mount the card there, but I also had to make a special bracket to support the PCIe extension cable which also supported the weight of the graphics card.

bmccarthy8989's Completed Build: Miami Hurricanes

bmccarthy8989 submitter 10 Builds 1 point 15 months ago

It is part of the color scheme for the Miami Hurricanes football team.

bmccarthy8989's Completed Build: Alexia - Upgrade and Mod

bmccarthy8989 submitter 10 Builds 1 point 16 months ago

Yeah he’ll upgrade to 32 GB eventually. But currently 16GB is more than enough for him. The only application that even comes close to saturating it is VR. But I agree it looks funny. Look at all this room for activ...RAM!
