Really? I had no idea you had to separate memory chips. Thanks for the catch!
Thanks for the reply. Tried your suggestions...so far, everything seems good. I also turned off hibernation, because I had a suspicion that perhaps it was shutting down instead of going into hibernate mode. More details later...
No, Lite-on doesn't provide software (or at least, not with the one I bought). I'll probably use PotPlayer until I am ready to cough up more money for PowerDVD.
Sure, added a few more. I realized that I never posted any pics with the cabling done.
And yes, that is a vintage Max Payne promo mousepad. I just can't bear to part with it.
Yeah, there is a $10 MIR on it, and another $10 on the mobo. But I realized after the fact that I probably could have held out and gotten the PSU even cheaper.
Thanks! I'm glad to hear I didn't completely overpay on this. I thought of salvaging the optical drive from my previous PC, but it was not blu-ray. The monitor was an impulse gift to myself to replace the ancient one I was working with.
I know, I threw it in there because I'm a bit lost on what I need for a card. Does the build need the same capabilities as if I were building a gaming rig? Could I lower costs in another area to balance the cost of a decent graphics card?
