Comment reply on macromonarch's Completed Build: Is this overkill?

You obviously had the budget and I can safely assume you didn't type this from the local internet cafe on an old Pentium 4, so I would never call it overkill. You can become an avid game by next week, or next year. Either way you will be prepared no question about that.

I do agree with eamesj1 about the monitor. You should definitely upgrade to 1440p and you'd still be pretty much guaranteed high refresh gaming with settings maxed out with any game you play.

Hey sorry about the delay. This case does not have an option to add a CD/DVD drive. You can install the OS using an external drive or by USB flash drive

Hey. I've upgraded this build since. I have Corsair SP 120s on the radiator. The Enermax fan that was on the rad is now on the top. All the fans are great.

In CPU intensive games yes. Total War games, Borderlands 2, Arma 3 is really bad, modded Skyrim just a few examples. That's why I upgraded. Check it out I have it posted.

Thanks. Can't quite remember but the PCIE 6 pin and the 24 pin were around 30 something from Ensourced.net

They feel and look even better in person. I believe they use the same para cord found in parachutes rope. I remember pricing them against two or three other dealers. I recommend Ensourced.

Any applications or background programs that are not needed by the user can negatively effect performance. I paid full price for my Windows 10. I should not have to deal with anything in my OS that i don't want or need. it's a matter of performance and principle.
