it depends, in the bios it says 22C but in hardware monitor it says 34C, can go up to 40C idle
For safety... Nonsense
Zero rpm CPU fan at low temperature is perfectly safe
ASUS thinking for the user is arrogant
You're happy with thos mobo overall?
because that's all there is for gen8 chips
slow and glitchy
The wood... Wow
awful, one guy might overtighten thinking it's loose
"when mounted correctly"... hmmmm I read that they upgraded their mounting screw with spring so you can keep turning without risk of bending the cpu casing
This heatsink is a giant. It probably does very well as a passive heatsink as well.
wonder how it compares with the fuma
how do you change the mounting pressure? on the noctua I currently use the pressure is set by turning a knob and stopping when the knob clicks so there is no leeway.
best wing-man ever :D
How is the mounting process? Noctua's is so easy.
It's fabulous stuff, I karaoke on that stuff, on occasion.
The satas don't seem to slow boot time, I think moving the boot partition to the m.2 did it, also the asrock bios seems particularly good, unless it's windows 10 that registers the satas in a non blocking way.
I added more photos of the interior, including some weird angles that show the velcro work.
I didn't hot glue, the backing cures and breaks off? If I hear something rattle I'll know what it is. The velcro is glued to the rubber insulator - definitely not travel ready.
By the way, what's a more silent and better fan than the noctua? I'm having the cpu one replaced, and the 14" isn't spooling up until 80% power is applied!
I tried both. Zero difference in normal use. I think the pro is for servers with loads of concurrent access and zero rest.
This poor man looks tortured. I was inspired by the original : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4zLfCnGVeL4
Similarly priced to walmart.
I recived my 8400, still waiting for the newegg mobo, I got a asrock z370m pro4
It was in-stock and shipped on time and it arrives tomorrow. That has been my experience with Walmart, unlike the other vendors who spam you with emails after emails, stuff just arrives.
I don't play much, I want my compile time and interaction to be fast and Ryzen just doesn't cut it.
I'm buying the 8400 with that in mind, hopefully the z370 will still work...
that's what I just got, we'll see if it's really in stock or Nextwarehouse in-stock
Puget is very comprehensive, do they mease frame drop during scrubbing though.
I think TR would be good if you'd raid together NVMe on the motherboard. Then you get 5+ GB/s and I'm sure any lag disappears :)
remove the cooler and look at the spreading of your thermal paste, it might not be well spread or maybe spread too thick. When you re-apply it, use good one like Kryonaut and don't put too much, there are many youtubes on how to do it well.
Tests have shown that TR is terrible for editing because of hiccups and framedrops during playback, it is very good for rendering but as you said those account for a minor time expense.
A 7700k or, if you can wait, a 8700k will provides a smoother interaction.
And how does it fare in term of compressing movie or doing editing?
These are cheap.
I see these are AVX1, how does it compare with the newer cpus that have AVX2?
Get an intel and instead of doing streaming on the CPU, buy an El Gato HD
Beautiful. I am praying that their wells stay full of water.
With Intel's 8th gen coming soon, if you need a computer pronto you can build then return if the new intels are worth it.
flex on the inner frame when panels are off
how is the flex on the case?
yes and it is all about the return ;)
whenever i rotate the case sideways something happens with the old contacts i suppose
Yep the pump sounds like a locomotive.
i just put in the fifth ssd and it beeped, had to isopropyl all the rams one by one and finally it booted.
that bequiet is awfully close to the gpu
Don't bother. Just plant trees, it lasts longer and is useful to everyone.
They could but the fans are not the source of the Diesel noise.
Are the more quiet than the Noctua everybody raves about?
Different model, this one is a H110 and the one wire to the motherboard is only to give RPM.
Got it, heat was not a problem in this situation as the temperature was well below Tjunction.

Your build't awesome! Kuddos for the $200 price tag :D
Did you noddle the settings in windows 7 or kept it stock?
Love how you arranged that case, simple. I bet it's built like a tank too. In fact that Tt cpu cooler looks like it belongs on a B2 bomber.
I'm a head collector. Uh I mean I used to do editing...
Yeah right? They did a number to the keyboard and it's now unusable, I have no use for a fancy tablet with no touch screen :-D
Saying adjust the fan curve on a cooler that cannot be controlled by the mother board is a bit silly.
Why is OC unstable with high V?
The be quiet seems like a good fan.
