It's probably a disease that people catch while they are roaming about, they the thought strikes them. "Huh, I'll just build a PC and post it on PCPartPicker.com with one picture and no description. Yes that is exactly what must be done."

drbau5 1 point 58 months ago

This build is shameful to see...not trying to be rude here, but I think most of the forum knows that a cpu cooler is supposed to be on TOP of the CPU, not beside it... secondly why would you get the 212 Evo with an extreme edition processor. If you build another computer, just do your research first

Great first build, but why the 4GB GTX 760, a 2GB card would be cheaper, unless you are running a higher than 1080p. Overall great build +1

ScottMalkomson's Completed Build: Pain In The Arse

Sir, why don't you have any actual pictures of the build, all you have is the picture of the 24 pin connector. I would love to see the actual build, and your cable manangfement is very nice.

boxcutter45's Completed Build: Money Pit

One thing bothered me, why the need for a 750W PSU?????????? Your build will NEVER (unless you add another GPU) draw more than 400W

Why does everyone use that cooler? I don't get it, there are better coolers out there, like Noctua and Be Quiet!

Anyways, great build +1

An intel i5 4670k and a gtx 760 will not blow the roof off of your budget. the beast will be contained. BUT, be sure to upgrade to a better cpu cooler.

i have upgraded your CPU to the latest and also the motherboard. i have also given you one of AMD's newer video cards. its a great video card.

Forum Topic "$2,350 Gaming/recording computer!"

drbau5 1 point 64 months ago

you might want to upgrade the mobo and CPU...but other than that its an amazing build.

you don't need thermal paste some coolers come pre-applied, others have it separately. point being, coolers come with thermal paste.

A bit over budget, but look what you get, and overclockable cpu, and amazing motherboard, a gtx 760, and some decent storage and a nice power supply. with an amazing windowed case...!

Forum Topic "$1700 Gaming Build Suggestion"

drbau5 submitter 1 point 64 months ago

i believe i have changed the build, i will be getting the msi mpower max, which comes with onboard wifi.

Forum Topic "$1700 Gaming Build Suggestion"

drbau5 submitter 1 point 64 months ago

No issues, but the 760s are an option, but I'm gravitating towards a 780ti, that way I can get another one.

Forum Topic "HELP with Minimalist Design ?$800"

It's nearly impossible with today's prices.

Forum Topic "First Build- $1500 budget"

drbau5 3 points 64 months ago

you might want to get a better power supply. trust me when i say this: you do not want to cheap out on a power supply. my rig's PSU got fried during a blackout, but thankfully, nothing else did.

Forum Topic "$1700 Gaming Build Suggestion"

drbau5 submitter 1 point 64 months ago

and it looks cool.

Forum Topic "$1700 Gaming Build Suggestion"

drbau5 submitter 1 point 64 months ago

oh well, but you can't forget the price to performance ratio, two 760s beat a titan and is about $400 cheaper.

Forum Topic "Ordering Parts Tomorrow, I would like some opinions"

drbau5 1 point 64 months ago

Get the Cooler master hyper 212 evo, or if you can, get the Corsair h55 or a better variant. they will cool that monstrosity of a cpu that you have. otherwise very nice build.

Forum Topic "is this a good build?"

drbau5 2 points 64 months ago

Go with this guy's build, its better than the one you have.

Forum Topic "is this a good build?"

drbau5 1 point 64 months ago

Ditch the gpu, and get the AMD A8 or A10 cpu, their built in gpu can handle games better than the gpu you chose.

Forum Topic "$1900 Gaming/Sound Recording Rig HELP!!!"

i would suggest upgrading to the Noctua U-12 or U-14 cooler, or maybe the Corsair H100i, since it's on sale.

Forum Topic "$3700 gaming/video editing build"

With that much money, go for a hex core cpu and custom liquid cooled, build. then you will be able to squeeze the best performance out of it. im just saying, that's what i would have done.
