IMO I think you over paid for this. You could easily build a 4670k/8350 with a gtx 760/280x and now 770 within +/- $50.

But this is a very nice build and great cable management!

This is a nice little budget build but I think a APU 5800k/6800k would perform better then this and around the same price.

Also you spend more money on a Cooler and fans then your CPU. That is the first I think hahaha

Are you really giving away CD Keys for BF4? Cause if you aren't which I'm fine with ill be buying it later tonight. You said I have won a CD Key so I was just wondering. Glad I could help ya at the time and no luck on finding a MB that supports 3 of your cards :'(

Crossfired 7870's will perform about as good as a 280x. Mind as well just get that or a gtx 770. Plus the cost of the added PSU and extra heat its not really worth it. That's IMO, I have 7850's CF at 1200 Ghz and it performs like a 7970 maybe a little better.

This build will be for my brother who barely knows the difference between a HDD and a case;He thinks they are the same thing. he honestly asked me if replacing the monitor will he lose all his photos hahah. So gaming will be not involved strictly Word, and Fantasy Football.

That looks pretty darn good. I forgot to mention but I already have a extra case microatx, So I could but that money else where like a PSU. Also I think im going to ditch the SSD and go with a HDD 500 gig. This is for my brother he wont notice the difference anyways hahah.

add $100 hundred more and you can get yourself a GTX 780. Prices are being cut $150 and the price of the 780 will be $500. No reason to ever buy a 290x or 280x anymore. I feel sorry for AMD :'(

Oh and also the 770 will be $330

But are these benchmarks at stock speeds? GTX 780 just overclock more. So for right now the 780 is a better card until you have non reference coolers on the 290x.

I agree with the CF. I have 7850's in CF as well and it performs great without the microshutter. Whatever, ppl will say what they will but non of them have CF setups. Its like talking to a blind mouse explaining to him cheese is usually yellow. The mouse will always say its still black. As long as you enjoy it that's all that matters. Solid build my friend!!!!

I don't have problems with AMD drivers playing all games. Do you mostly play NVIDA type games or AMD's? Me personally I only play BF3, Tomb Raider, COD, and some others with great FPS's. So I cant fully answer that question. If you can afford the 770 get that but if you want to save get a 7970 or 280x. All those options will play modern games great. Or like you said save up for a 780/780ti when its released.

Well you just wrote a bunch of stuff that doesn't exist yet. Id wait until at least one of the above happens.

About the 770, how cheap are you talking? Cause the 280x is averaging around $100 cheaper then the 770 and performs just or better then. I feel like AMD has solved a lot of the CF issues with the latest drivers. I own CF and i can say microshutter isn't a problem, at least not to me.

GTX 780 will be my next purchase, thank you AMD for making my decision. Oh but I hear the 290x performs better at 4k. Well I don't even own a 1440p monitor so yeah. Maybe in 10 years but by then a basic GPU will outperform this. Nothing like buying a $550 gpu to then spend 3-6k on a monitor at 20 fps or so.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "AMD"

That would be really nice! I really don't see the need for 8 cores just yet. Just fix the 6 core with faster single threaded support.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Would dual 7850s bottleneck an FX-6300?"

2 CF 7850's run the same as a 7970. Id just pick up one of those since the price is cheaper for 1 7970 vs 2 7850's, or just a r9-280x.

I have 7850's in CF and have enjoyed the experience, but that was because the price of a 7970 was like $500 at the time and 7850's were a lot less.

Im using CF now, and since the recent drivers its been a pretty good experience. The only downfall I have is the heat it produces and the extra fan noise.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "AMD"

Actually that wouldn't be a bad idea. I think things are definitely going that way. Intel is trying but failing miserably with integrated GPU. Id love to see like a 2500k with 7870/660 integrated graphics on a chip. You really wouldn't need much more then that for todays gaming for 1080p.

That's very nice, but now you want to spend 10k on a computer? Id cut that down to around 2k. That pc would last you at least 5 years with minor upgrades. Plus then you can invest the rest with interest and gain a little. That's just me but who knows its your money.

For now why buy a 670 today (Since thats all we know) If the 280x is better and cheaper or a 770 or why even sli and just go 780????. Plus whats with 32 gigs or ram? Is this gaming is this programming is this what? Its stupid cause we are just guessing.

Even if they gave those for free or paid you to have them its still junk. I wouldn't spend a dime on those. You are pretty much buying a 8350 and paying AMD to overclock it. This can be done for free in your own home.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "sandy bridge vs ivy bridge"

Sandy Ivy and Haswell are pointless upgrades to each other. All are within 10-15% difference unless you are rocking a 1156 and before. AMD STEP UP SO INTEL WILL MAKE BETTER CPU'S!!!!! So yes the 2600k is a better CPU then the 3570k and PCI 3.0 vs 2.0 isn't worth the upgrade since we don't have GPUs that use up the full potential of 2.0 yet. You could buy a SLI titans and pair it with a 2600k and you wont see a bottleneck. Go with the cheaper price. Also a lot of the sandys will OC to 5.0 GHZ on air with pretty low temps. You will have to OC a Ivy to 4.8 and a Haswell to 4.6 and those clocks are kind of hard to perform on them unless you are lucky with water.
