Yes, doesn't everybody? :D
I'm still waiting for my Gaming X TRIO :-/
Awesome! Someday I may get brave enough to do something similar. What are your temps idle/load? +1
The RGB strip could have been mounted 3mm to the right... other than that, it's PERFECT!
If you don't get stuck in something at some point, you're doing it wrong. Go back to Step 1.
Wishing you a speedy and and complete recovery, my friend! ;)
Yeah... why not!?! ;)
Great! I'd love to see your build with one of these installed!
I know! T_T Luckily, once the GPU in installed, you can't really see it.
Aaand this was caused by an improperly mounted card. The system was transported while the GPU was still in the slot without the mounting screws installed. Yikes!
Wouldn't have happened if it had one of my GPU braces. ;)
Oh man... I did that too the first time I put one of these together... remain calm, don't panic, and above all else.. DO NOT turn on the blender!!!
Not really. If you adjust it with enough tension to wedge it between your GPU and GPU Shroud/Base of Case the rubber material will not move. I've built dozens of systems using this brace and I have yet to have one slip off. If it does, then it wasn't adjusted properly.
I think I'm going to get the tinted version. I have a clear panels on a few of my builds and things are just too bright specially when you have a ton of RGB components. I'm actually thinking about getting some Plasti Dip smoke spray for my current build.
Nice. I think the Fractal Case is going to be on my next build!
Very Nice build! One day I'll be brave enough to do my custom loop... one day. +1
Great looking build. I used this case before and ended up making a custom PSU shroud out of plexiglass. It makes things looks cleaner as far as cable management goes.
Very nice! I'm on the fence about getting that case. Love that RGB!
That sure is purty!
Nice build! I like "legacy" builds like this. I'm working on a QX6800 Extreme build myself. I just gotta hunt down compatible parts! +1
PS - I'm in agreement with everyone about changing your PSU. I've had a few clients over the years that had their entire systems get rekt because of a bad power supply... namely CoolMax.
I'm gonna have to look into that bracket. I have a custom one that I built myself but this one looks really clean.
Very Nice!!! I love me some Offer Up! I do all my Offer Up and Craigslist deals at the lobby of my local Police Department. Weeds out the scammers and keeps both parties safe.
Very... Very... VERY NICE!
Well what do you know! It is an NVMe drive! Lol I bought it for $25! Yassss!
They never do. lol
I'll get back to on that. I don't know the exact parts. Lol
I've never had a problem with using top fans as intake. I do this for all my builds and have never had thermal issues even when using all kinds of radiators. I just like to have a positive air pressure system.
The RAM I used was just an extra set I had and will do the job fine since I won't be overclocking. I am considering grabbing a couple of 3000MHz Vengeance RGB modules in the future, but for now these will do.
I purchased this CPU and Mobo because they, at the time, were bundled and priced cheaper than the locked model and any 8th gen board available.
I like the Remote Desktop function of the Pro Version of Windows 10 and that's why I used it on this build and on all my rigs.
As far as storage goes it's not an NVMe drive but just a standard M.2 SATA SSD and for some reason my parts list didn't save when I added my mechanical hard drive. Lol. I do have a 3TB Seagate Barracuda in the rig.
Like I said I've never had a problem with thermal issues. The CPU never gets past 60C and the mobo stays a cool 34C at its peak when running games/benchmarks (Aida64, Intel XTU, LoL, Fallout 4).
If somehow at some point my system overheats using this method, I'll swap out the direction of the air flow. But since I haven't had any temperature issues on any of the systems that I've built doing things this way, I think I'm not going to fix anything that isn't broke.
I think I might have to run benchmarks in a climate controlled environment and compare top intake vs exhaust to see if it makes any kind of difference at all.
Yeah, there's something about a black and red build that will always have a special place in my heart! Lol
I like it!
Them Pizza Rolls are a must for any build!
+1 for Cable Combs
I guess it's pretty "humble" compared to my other systems that are running 6th, 7th, and 8th Gen i7 CPUs. Maybe I should swap out the 1080ti for an EVGA GTX 770 FTW. Lol
I did just add a 3TB Seagate Barracuda to the parts list. It didn't save when I put it together and used it for my completed build.
I think I might just do that. Thanks! And yeah, great build ya got there!
Awesome. I've been on the fence about the TT fans but I may just try them out on my next build. I've always been partial to Corsair but man they're pretty pricey.
I loooove Dragons! I have the exact CPU and Mobo combo.
How do you like that case? I've been thinking about picking up the exact same one.
I don't see much difference, except for cpu usage, between this rig and my other system that has an 8700K and the same GPU. Then again I do only play those two games, League of Legends and Fallout 4 and is currently hooked up to a 1080p TV. All settings are maxed out with 60fps. I will have to see how well this system works with Fallout 4 in 4K with all the settings cranked all the way up. My 8700k rig maxes out with 48fps and dips as low as 35fps running that game in that resolution.
Nope not at all.
I hear ya. I'm trying to see how much it would cost to get the acrylic replaced with glass...
I like the red but I'm going to save a little money for the RGB version just in case I want to do full RGB in the future.
What is this DOTA 2 ya'll speak of?
I just need some RGB 3200 DDR4 and RGB ML140s to complete the build, but yeah it's pretty beastly the way it sits. Thanks!
I know but I'm thinking bout dropping money on some DDR4 RGB instead of the Red MLs. These Bitfenix will do for now ;)
Yup! I'm sippin' on that Intel juice! LOL I couldn't pass up the opportunity to nab me the 8700K for $300 and the MSI M5 Mobo for $125.
Yep! I was really blessed. I started out with a 1060, then a 1080, and now the TRIO. I never imagined that I would own a 1080ti let alone a TRIO.
I love it... probably will be my forever case. So big and roomy for all your components and it makes cable management a breeze! I'm hoping that they would come out with something similar with tempered glass instead of acrylic tho.
Sorry, I need to correct it. It's supposed to be the H115i Pro. Thanks!
