I want the case to be sealed when closed. Also, I don't feel the exhaust fans blowing on my face, even when im sitting 2ft away from the screen.
Thank you, im very happy with this build
No issues at all over here, I was referring to when those drives are connected to a PCI lots, the video card will drop to 8x if the CPU only supports 16 lanes. But after some research, I found that there is no performance drop on a video card when going from 16x to 8x. Cheers!
Nice build. 1070 is the way to go!
Great build, too bad you had some hardware issues. But troubleshooting them is part of the hobbie. How was the m2 ssd? Any bandwidth issues with the 1070?
Im loving it. Have it locked at 60fps. Never see the counter go below that. Playing New Doom, Arma, FO4...
thank you, I wanted the case so be sealed once its closed, but that is a fun idea haha
so how did your build end up looking?
yes. But I fly myself when I travel.
The case that I picked is 8.7in tall, providing 7.8in of inside space. The tallest components attached to the bottom plate are the pump and psu. Then it meets the radiator, fans, the top of the plexiglass, then the monitor. I'm using every mm of space from bottom to top. A smaller case would require different components or a different configuration.
check this for the building process. Cheers!
Thanks, but why would I do that if I already have a 480GTS?
haha yea. a "Black Box" is the flight recorder that most aircrafts have, and it is actually orange too ;)
yea, I did through Amazon on Thursday. But I doubt I will get it anytime soon.
I will, once the damn GPU arrives!
Thank you! I did plenty of research and CAD before I started buying the parts. It helped me visualize the final product.
Thank you, I just have to polish it up so it looks nicer
yea. and its free and awesome. I recommend it as your next design tool
Thanks, yea that was my intent. It came out alright I think
exactly what I was going for haha!
Thank you, what pictures do you wanna see? the building process or the final product?
Thank you! and yea you prob will, I have not even been charged for it yet haha..
Im looking to upgrade to the 980...
I have a similar set but with 680. Looking to upgrade to 980. What games do you run and how does the machine perform?
Went I built this, 4 series were not out yet. I had to build this today, I would go 4 series. its just like $10 more.
haha yeah, nice that it matches. the mouse is very responsive and I like the additional "sniper" feature. I recommend it.
thank you for your suggestion, based on my own experience (Previous career in IT), AMD has never showed the stability that Intel units do. That is why I went Intel on this one.
Also, I have to fix the joystick wobbling.. I'm still calibrating some settings..
That's cool, I really like the chairs, but i don't like they are too low.. so even if you are not going to set up a flight sim, a structure to raise the chair would be an excellent improvement.
yeah me too, I had the free version and I was very interested in doing more with it, so I bought it..
derp squad plays Wed and Sat nights, very laid back. connect to their TS3 server, there is someone there almost all the time. if you see me, say something too. Player name is Raffo.
nice, where did you fit the radiator, top or back? what are your idle/load CPU temps?
yes Arma is awesome, I haven't installed 3 yet. I'm way too busy with 2 haha but it is something I will be installing later on..
I built a structure out of PVC, secured it with two screws at every joint and gave it a goat of matte black. pretty solid :D
damn 5GHz? there is a guy on youtube who OC to 4.9GHz and says it is stable.. I have it at 4.1GHz and im happy (for now hehe)
im pretty sure it would, havent looked it up.
Hi, I recently joined the derp squad (http://derp-squad.com/), but haven't been able to play with them much. seems pretty laid back I would recommend it. where do you play?
yes I went overkill with the power supply, but I had that in mind, I didn't want to risk it with a bronze 550W. Perhaps later I will get an additional 680, but for now I dont need it, I didn't want to pay $1000 for the 690 :S. I still prefer the 3770 over the 3570, even though HT has no effect in gaming, it still runs cooler. I know I paid for extra wattage and RAM, that perhaps I wont need right away, but I feel comfortable knowing this is a reliable and solid computer. Also, thank you for your advice.
damn, the game is not easy at all hahaha...
cool, I do it manually but I'm gonna give the software a chance too, thanks!
ok I just ran the test.. here it is..
thanks for your concern, actually I made an extensive research and decided to pick up this system for various reasons.
I am planing on overclocking my 3770k to a point a 3570k would not be as comfortable. Also it has a larger cache and Hyper-Threading, and runs cooler than the 3570K. I have had bad experiences with Gigabyte Mobos. Asus has never failed me. Neither has Corsair, that is why I picked up 16GBs or RAM of it, a very cool and efficient case, and a powerful and reliable PSU. The mouse just came with the processor and I like it a lot.
I frankly don't see where your "a lot better" comes from..
Also, in your set up you are to spend £1747.14.. is that British Pounds? that equals $2722.04 US Dollars.. so actually I spent $500 less.. is that right?
Thank you very much, I'm very proud of it and I'm enjoying it a lot!
