CPU: Intel Core i7 6700K The Intel Core i7 is the best CPU Intel has to offer for gamers and enthusiasts. The new Skylake architecture is fantastic and offers fantastic performance and overclockability. For gaming this is truly THE processor to get and will run whatever you throw at it
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX Corsair is among the best names in liquid cooling, and the H100i GTX is no exception. It will keep your CPU under 50? C unless in extreme stress. Also, the RGB fans will be the first step to our red theme. I would have gotten the H110i GTX, but it’s not worth the money, and some cases don’t support 2x140mm.
Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M7 Even outside of the contest, MSI makes the best motherboards. The GAMING M7 is absolutely FANTASTIC, for overclocking and gaming. The BIOS is fantastic, and this is an overall awesome motherboard. Also, it looks awesome and fits our color scheme.
Memory: G.Skill TridentZ Keeping in mind that 8GB is no longer quite enough for gaming, or will become not enough in a matter of years, I chose 16GB of G.Skill TridentZ DDR4 RAM. Blisteringly fast (3200 MHz), this is true gaming memory, and works excellently with the Z170A GAMING M7. G.Skill is known for their excellent memory, and these sticks are no exception. Also, they are an exceptional price for the speed and quality, and fit the color scheme amazingly.
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD and Samsung 850 EV0 250GB SSD Not much special here, Seagate is a pretty reputable storage brand, and the Samsung SSD is there to boot Windows, and it’s a cheap, VERY reliable SSD.
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti This video card is an absolute BEAST. Designed to run reliable, enthusiast grade 1440p and 4K on Ultra Settings, it is the best short of a Titan X or Z. In fact, it is fairly accurate to say it has similar performance with less VRAM (6 instead of 12 GB). Also, MSI has again made a fantastic card, the Twin Frozr fans keep it nice and cool, for overclocking! This is the best graphics card on the market, and will be reliable for years to come. It looks beast too. :D
Case: Cooler Master Mastercase Pro 5 There 3 criteria in choosing a case: 1) It looks nice. 2) It provides adequate cooling (airflow). 3) It is future-proof (up to interpretation) IMHO, the Mastercase Pro 5 by Cooler Master checks every one of those boxes. The case is very sleek and noticeable, with an angular design. Keep it black or add LEDs, the choice is yours. The cooling is great, there are fan mounts everywhere: • Front: 3x120/140 • Top: 2x120/140 • Rear: 1x120/140 This case is almost completely modular: sound dampening side panels, or window, moveable HDD bracket, radiator cover, moveable SSD brackets, etc
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750W 80+ Gold Certified This PSU from EVGA is super solid, provides enough power (any more would be overkill, really. This build only takes 500W, plus some overclocking :D). It’s 80+ Gold, so pretty/very efficient, and fully modular. Great PSU.
Thanks MSI, and the PCPartPicker community for reading! Upvote please!
