Good idea pairing with your home AV system. I bet it looks and sounds awesome!

mkobrien49's Completed Build: The Tax Return Rebuild

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 8 days ago

Have you tried turbo mode? OCing?

You should be at least up to 4.3 with that cooler, possibly stable at 4.5.

cgarray17's Completed Build: Water Beast

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 8 days ago

You should be able to run the CPU at 4.5 or higher. Have you tried?

saracatlee's Completed Build: Project N.E.R.G.B.

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 8 days ago

What speed do you run your CPU?

danlongman's Completed Build: My System

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 8 days ago

How do you get 4.2 on all cores using the stock cooler? Has it been stable?

abellp's Completed Build: First time Micro build (2019

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 9 days ago

Very nice build in a small case. That RTX should handle the video decoding for streaming on its own without the need for a second PC. Enjoy!

saracatlee's Completed Build: Project N.E.R.G.B.

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 9 days ago

This SHOULD be featured!

mkobrien49's Completed Build: The Tax Return Rebuild

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 9 days ago

I just saw on the news that the avg tax return will be about $1,650 this year. I always owe and am guessing I will owe that amt.

mkobrien49's Completed Build: The Tax Return Rebuild

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 9 days ago

When buying higher speed RAM you should buy it in one kit because each kit is tested on ots own and not guaranteed to work with other kits, even if they are the same part number from the same vendor.

TechFox's Completed Build: CyberWare

maddog62 1 Build 2 points 10 days ago

Nice parts selection for the purpose. Pics are very good too. I bet you can get work done in half the time now. Congratulations!

AidenC's Completed Build: My First Gaming PC Build

Nice parts and build. I suggest adding a 500 GB or large SSD for video editing as disc IO can be intense at times. Enjoy!

rel904's Completed Build: 2019 Streaming Build - Thermaltake Micro-ATX i5 9600K

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 10 days ago

I have seen reports that OBS does the encoding in the GPU. I wonder why other streaming software does not offer the same feature. It would remove the need for a second PC.

iarvee's Completed Build: First PC Build

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 10 days ago

Very nice. What Asus GPU is that? I don't see it on your parts list.

rel904's Completed Build: 2019 Streaming Build - Thermaltake Micro-ATX i5 9600K

maddog62 1 Build 0 points 11 days ago

That was written last June well before RTX cards were released.

rel904's Completed Build: 2019 Streaming Build - Thermaltake Micro-ATX i5 9600K

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 11 days ago

NVIDIE and many Streamers have reported that the RTX cards handle thr video encoding just fine with only a drop of a few fps when streaming.

tanumoy's Completed Build: Phoenix

maddog62 1 Build 2 points 11 days ago

Agreed. Thanks.

rel904's Completed Build: 2019 Streaming Build - Thermaltake Micro-ATX i5 9600K

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 11 days ago

Interesting build and purpose. What do you think about NVIDIA claims that a streaming PC is not needed with their RTX GPUs?

tanumoy's Completed Build: Phoenix

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 11 days ago

If 8k is 4x res of 4k does 4k + 4K = 6K?

StuxNetTV's Completed Build: First Build: The_Void

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 11 days ago

NVIDIA has been allowing freesync support in their drivers for several months now. However, most freesync monitors dont pass their rigid standards.

tanumoy's Completed Build: Phoenix

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 11 days ago

Dual GPUs in SLI I presume? What apps make use of that? And why the diff monitors?

Q: Does 4K + 4K = 8K?

MrDevil's Completed Build: The Terminator

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 11 days ago

I'll be back!

StuxNetTV's Completed Build: First Build: The_Void

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 11 days ago

Nice parts and case. I like it. I bet you can really drive up the frame rates on that monitor. Have you tried enabling freesync yet to see how it performs?

Otterman366's Completed Build: Restoration of a lost soul

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 12 days ago

I LOVE B&W builds and built my first one in Nov.

Otterman366's Completed Build: Restoration of a lost soul

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 12 days ago

Awesome GPU and matching display. I'm guessing some games play that fast on 2K high settings. If just for gaming I would have gone for a faster 4 core CPU instead.

Novakainer's Completed Build: Novakaine

maddog62 1 Build 2 points 12 days ago

Amazing parts list. I cant wait to view the pics. I would love to see some BMs from it. I bet that RAM just purs like a Lambo on the Audobon. Ya got a point from me.

Colin10101's Completed Build: My first gaming pc

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 16 days ago

Nice parts for a $1K build. How well does it stream?

bleible's Completed Build: Work then Play

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 16 days ago

OMG, I love how that GPU looks and performs. All I could afford on Nov was an Asus GTX 1070 Dual that I had to order a custom backplate for. Still a big upgrade from my 950 TI. Maybe I will upgrade to that or the 3080 in a few years. Time will tell. Enjoy!

madmurdock's Completed Build: The Dark Tower (Threadripper 1950x)

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 17 days ago

If not too much trouble, please lookup prices of similar used parts to get an idea of what they are worth, then add that to the cost build up.

kwak123's Completed Build: Dark And Stormy 2.0

maddog62 1 Build 1 point 17 days ago

Very nice parts and build! Can you change the colors on the RAM to match the case leds? They stick out like a sore thumb in the pics.
