There is no difference between using either PCIE slot. Now you have to keep this in mind, depending on if your graphics card is on air cooling, I would advice to use the first slot because of more airflow to the graphics card. When I was on air, my card was 10C cooler when I used the top slot compared to the second slot, Now on water cooling, it does not matter, and I used the second slot because of how I designed my loop.

not at this time, I am pretty satisfied with the temps and performance at 5ghz. I only need 1.28v for 5ghz, so chip doesn't get terribly hot at all.

You speak the truth sir, there is really no need for me to upgrade at this point, except to have the latest and greatest hardware, lol. I think i will skip skylake-x and get the second generation X299 CPUs, whenever it gets released.

Good point, but from my research, it seems most 1080ti's, including the founders edition, all overclock about the same on water, which is 2050-2100ghz, so i do not think it matters with water cooling. Now, if i planned on going strictly air cooling, I would have gotten the Asus 1080ti strix for sure. Actually, one of my Ti's actually hit 2088ghz stable, but the other one maxes out at 2050ghz.

what is a good case that can fit my rads, that has tempered glass? i love the 750D, but its a little outdated, compared to other cases on the market atm. I was looking at the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv, but it seems from reviews, it has problems with airflow.

I actually purchased white custom cables for the gpus and 24 pin power, but i have so much cables and hardware in the back of the case, that i couldn't close the back of the case with the custom cables (extensions) installed, and i did extensive cable management in the back.
