Henen-nesw will be my new at-home daily driver, upon which my digital life will take place – everything from Photoshop creations to software development, from music on YouTube to art on ZeroChan, and from chats with Skype friends to collaborations on Discord will, from soon onward, take place here. This is where the magic is going to happen.
This build will replace the aging OEM-built PC that has served me for the past year; Tyre has had a long, faithful run that started in the era of the Core 2 and will soon end in a box of mine. It has become apparent that Tyre is suffering from chipset conflicts to do with its GPU, causing core lockups every few hours or so. Eight years is a pretty damn swell trek for any PC, isn’t it?
Common tasks of mine include software development (both low- and high-level), working in Photoshop and Premiere/After Effects, virtualising Windows for those Adobe products, and daily web browsing + music of course. Occasionally I will play Minecraft, but to be honest I do not intend to game very heavily on anything to begin with. Any games I will play will either run on Linux, in DOS Box, or in Windows virtually just fine.
