welcome to /r/datahoarder
love the sticker on the side.
full pc functionality
nice. i dont mind a subtle bit of rgb like a little on the graphics card or cpu cooler. but rgb ram? really. nice
wow how is unraid going for you that motherboard?
good to see a linux build. like the green with linux mint. what apps do you use for photography?
any pictures inside? how did mounting the hard drives go?
i know. i think its because of how intricate it is. that was why it was such as disappointment with the issues i had as was thinking how could a 300 quid motherboard just mess up like this.
ASRock - X299E
im fairness i hope we do get some good motherboards for ryzen 3000, as the current line are ok but io and ram support are sub par when compared to x299 right now. the max ram support as of now is 32gb vs 64gb and the fact there's little io such as dual Ethernet and full audio support. its what made me try the x299 mini itx in the 1st place as i can get more power out of the same space. oh and there's 3 m.2 slots compared to just 2 although its common to find just 1.
please let me know how you get on with this board. it seams to me like its a common problem
this was what i was having issue wise. that explains my downfall. i ended up having to return the motherboard and now im not sure of what im going to do (i have all the parts just no motherboard). as i might switch to amd once there are some decent mini itx boards. as this was a serious let down. however i was using unraid but did have windows 10. i even tried updating the bios to no effect. have a look at my build guide here for more info
how well is the motherboard working for you? there is a issue where if you remove the back m.2 adapter, the io on the back stops working.
Are you still using it then? can you replace the leds on the panel?
so why the case? also does it feel big? it looks huge.
the fastest way to void your warranty
just asking, but could he use linux? or does it work on windows only
nice build from my cat!
nice with your next pay check you could get a slightly higher up graphics card to play fortnite on higher settings and higher fps. just a thought. but looks good for a amd fx build
wheres my beat? how did you find moving away from windows? did you find you miss windows software?
and this is why i dont water cool
why do you have 3 m.2 drives? also what happens if you remove the m.2 that's in-front of the io?
any pictures with the new parts inside? how well do the cables sit plugged into the psu. does it sort off push the graphics card out a bit when plugged in?
how did you get the cables in for the pus? do the cables coming out of the power supply push up on the graphics card?
reminds me of tron legacy
guessing this is a tron legacy reference?
where is that wallpaper from?
how is that 2tb hard drive overkill for your needs?
nice parts. what was the reason for a 128gb m.2 drive?
what os do you use?
nice plex/ unraid machine you could use there
what os are you using?
well the last time time contacted microsoft about licence keys the couldn't do anything so i bought a key from reddit using bitcoin and activated fine on another pc. might give a go just out of hope. or there are alternatives
yes it could but smaller and larger capacity drives are more expensive. also i wanted to reuse my 2tb hard drive to save money
well i have changed it for a smaller l9. i will add pictures at some point. its not for faint of heart. i mean getting the case was no ease and some of the cables like the usb 3 header where at a 45 degree angle. but with a for now working motherboard which detected 64gb of ram 1st time and an cooler that doesn't destroy everything inside, maybe it was fate that my motherboard had to go wrong. however ive paid a Heavey price and windows 10 has deactivated and now wont reactivate. maybe the linux gods are calling but problem with linux and wine is some programs can act drunk and not work.
nice no thrills no spills system
playback of 4k uhd dvds without ripping and drm
how have you tried to future proof for 4k media?
thank-you will put it on the scales just to see. once ive sorted the motherbourd out. i will get a slimmer fan like a noctua d9 sized so that the wires are comfortable and i can put the 3.5 inch hard drive down the side. i did find that if you have a older thicker 2.5 hard drive like a ssd then it wont fit down the side because of the little lugs to stop it sliding off.
It feels very heavy. However there's something not right as even with a Ethernet cable and working graphics card plugged in it doesn't want to work. But worked fine 2 weeks ago. Tested hardware on different motherboard and worked fine. It was only when I restarted it that it stopped working.
hi there does the cpu fan bulge out the side of the case?
https://www.techopedia.com/definition/6270/broadcast-storm in a nutshell when the computer with 2 Ethernet ports, sends out packets of data, it ends up detecting itself because of 2 Ethernet cables plugged into itself. this what ive been told about.
what's the asus board like?
stop giving razer new ideas. its so you can charge your phone up while you do a grub update
noted you changed the fan on the cpu cooler. im planing a similar build but with a 140w tdp i have seen smaller cpu cooler on the same tdp so i know its possible but im thinking of going with the big shrunken because of larger fan size = more air flow. how does your system cope?
how are the temps as im planing a similar build
how does the noctua fit when the case is on 58mm yet the cpu cooler is 65mm does the case side bulge out as im planning a similar build but with a 140w tdp cpu
