then try to push the PC power button on ... with the PSU off, the system should briefly try to start but then will discharge any remaining charge that may be lingering ... now it's really off

My money is on the PSU

So you really have no money then... lol

He has a RTX 2070 with a corsair SF600 (excellent PSU) which is overkill as he can do with even a good 450 watts psu.. As you can see by his build.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gr6pLJ

My guess (and I admit, it is only a guess) is that you may be at the very top end of the PSU and it's struggling.

Stop guessing please. You can easily google this information. While gaming 166 watts (consumption for 2070). Add to that 65 watts from locked cpu. Even if he overclocks and take into account he wont be overclocking a locked cpu, the corsair SF450 would have been more than enough for this build.

There are many options available. You also need to consider CPU clearance for your case and if there is any compatibility issues with heatsink and motherboard if going with large air coolers.

The bequiet Dark Rock Pro 4 which you have on your saved list is an amazing cooler.

The noctua NH-D15 is also a great choice

pegotico 2 Builds 1 point 22 days ago

Hey im currently looking to upgrade my CPU. Looking to get a Intel i7-7700k 4.2GHz but on Pcpartpicker it says that my current motherboard can cause incompatibility.

You just need to update bios to latest version. You need at least bios version 3016 for that cpu. So just update bios to latest Version 3805 with the cpu you have right now.

My current motherboard is a Asus h170-PRO

Just so you know, you wont be able to overclock your cpu with that board, so you can maybe save some cash with the non K version.

As a matter of fact he can install the GPU on top slot perfectly fine as there are no compatibility issues with that board and the NH-D15s.

However you could upgrade your CPU to something more powerful if you wanted to seeing it uses and lGA1151 socket so you can get most high speck CPU like the I3-8100 for £100 or so. Hope you found this useful.

NO..... it isn't compatible with the i3-8100. He would need to purchase a new motherboard.

Why you mocked thoose two GPU's by pairing them with a 2700x?

So basically you are mocking other ppls builds... How is that constructive?

Why feedbacks and critics are not allowed?

Obviously you are just making fun of other;s ppl builds... In your own words "mocking"

So that the builder (or people planning to build), to not repeat the mistake?

I hope you try not repeating your mistakes. and like Godzlegend1 posted.. Its his money and also a great build. So if you cannot give a feedback without offending mind your own business.

You shouldn't have issues with airflow. Just install 2 fans on front panel preferably 140mm and the one on rear (120mm) already included should give you a decent airflow.

Not clear if you were able to update bios to latest version which is version 5.10

CPU clearance for Q300L is 159mm and Hyper 212 evo cooler is 159mm so it will fit fine.

The cryorig M9i recommended by mark5916 would be a great choice and has similar performance to the 212 evo.

The H100i Pro is 99 bucks right now which is not that bad of a deal, but if you can fit a 280mm rad, the EVGA CLC 280 is just 105 and is a better cooler. You can run fans at around 1000 rpms and give you the same performance as the H100i which means a much quieter cooler.

Forum Topic "This EATX motherboard in ATX case?"

pegotico 2 Builds 2 points 1 month ago

So if I understand you well, the Enthoo Evolv-ATX would be 7mm too narrow to make this work properly; and the Pro (and probably other ATX cases) would be okay 100%..?

Exactly...

The Evolv -ATX has the 264mm wide restriction and the gigabyte board 305X271 so it wont fit. With the Primo, Luxe and Pro you wont have any issues as those cases don't have restrictions with E-ATX boards. Those 3 cases are great choices.

Forum Topic "This EATX motherboard in ATX case?"

pegotico 2 Builds 3 points 1 month ago

There are several E-ATX dimensions. (305 × 330 mm) being the largest and (305 × 257 mm) the smallest.

You should check specs for the exact case you want as this will vary...

Examples (second one doesn't have any restrictions)

http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Evolv-ATX.html

E-ATX *(up to 264mm wide), ATX, Micro ATX, Mini ITX

http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Pro.html

ATX, EATX, mATX, SSI EEB

Which case are you planning on using?

Forum Topic "Why is my ram not reaching max speeds?"

pegotico 2 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

There is always a risk. Though I always update to the latest version, many ppl will tell you "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Bios updates addresses specific issues with board and improves system performance. You can see the description next to each version and latest version includes all fixes from previous versions.

https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B450M%20Pro4/index.asp#BIOS

If you decide on updating NEVER use the windows option (updating bios from within windows) but use the instant flash option (updating with utility in bios).
