ThoughtA's Build Guide: Gaming, Streaming, and Editing Build

rogdog56 1 point 1 hour ago

No but if you went on the forums or reddit I'm sure you could get someone to build it for you

ThoughtA's Build Guide: Gaming, Streaming, and Editing Build

rogdog56 1 point 1 hour ago

Wait for ryzen 3000 and then change the list. New processors are only a month away

ThoughtA's Build Guide: Gaming, Streaming, and Editing Build

Hope you haven't ordered yet. Wait until CES 2018 for Ryzen 3000. It's just around the corner and may be amazing

Certainly, it's also much quieter

ThoughtA's Build Guide: Great AMD Gaming Build

  • You should order all the parts at once, but it's best if case, mobo, and psu arrive first as you can just add the other components on top of that
  • For windows, what I'm doing to give more money to my rig itself is that I'm going to buy a copy of windows at a later time (you can install windows and then just buy a licence from the windows store) Also, you can use a program to activate windows for free, but I'm not allowed to refer you to that on this website. It also is very unstable and can by revoked by Microsoft at any time if they detect it's a faulty version. I used to use it but because it's very temporary activations I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you really hate the watermark being there but you know you're going to buy Windows, but you just want it to GO AWAY, there's a way you can hide it by editing the registry which I'll let you google because I don't know if I can explicitly tell you how on this website without this comment being deleted
  • For me, Bitwit Kyle's tutorial was the most helpful, however in any build with a HDD cage in the psu shroud, insert the HDD first so you don't have to mess around with the PSU and the HDD later on.

  • I don't recommend piracy, please don't delete this reply ThoughtA or manirelli

ThoughtA's Build Guide: Great AMD Gaming Build

rogdog56 1 point 1 hour ago

Yes, any good gaming rig will be great for most 3d rendering tasks because gaming is basically just a constant 3d rendering task

ThoughtA's Build Guide: Great AMD Gaming Build

rogdog56 1 point 1 hour ago

Just advice for anyone going off of this partslist, you may want to consider bumping your MOBO up to x470 for better power delivery and better OC'ing

ThoughtA's Build Guide: Great AMD Gaming Build

rogdog56 1 point 1 hour ago

It won't be able to push 144hz all the way on ultra but it should be around 100 fps and you can always lower settings and upgrade in the future. And you can OC the 1070 ti past a 1080

Yes, easily

Forum Topic "SATA vs NVME"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 1 hour ago

Yea, I'm not expecting OS or Games to boot any faster than maybe 1 second or less difference. Only reason I'm getting NVMe is so no space is taken up and the file extractions I mentioned. Hopefully the prices will drop more in 2019

Forum Topic "SATA vs NVME"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 2 hours ago

Yeah hopefully, I'm not buying my PC until April-May ish, so price drops would be nice

Forum Topic "SATA vs NVME"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 5 hours ago

Sorry to add after the fact, I know it's not that much on boot times but I am doing a lot of file extractions so I'll be going with NVMe

Forum Topic "SATA vs NVME"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 5 hours ago

I do a lot of large file extractions, so I'll probably get the 970 evo 500gb and add a sata one down the line

Forum Topic "SATA vs NVME"

Thanks, it'll probably be beautiful in games like Windwaker and Twilight Princess, along with Mario Kart Wii, Doubledash, and Sunshine!

Mrkid6's Completed Build: Ryzen 2600 Black and Red Build

rogdog56 2 points 2 days ago

Yes, I'm upgrading to ryzen from a dual core 3.1ghz macbook, and emulators run okay but I'd love to see what his performance is like. Right now I have 2600 in my partslist, but I recommend waiting a month or two to see what AMD has in store for Ryzen 3000 which they are revealing at CES. Well founded rumours suggest that Ryzen 5 3600 will be 8 core 16 thread processor with 4+ ghz boost.

Mrkid6's Completed Build: Ryzen 2600 Black and Red Build

Remove rear fan, install, maybe route through any cable on top left of mobo such as CPU, and then re-install your rear fan. Happy travels

275r tg has a super bad tg mount, also I'm kind of going for more of an industrial look like with the higher end cooler master cases (although the only one of those I can afford don't fit my specifications)

Forum Topic "Best case for me?"

Forum Topic "Raspberry Pi in an Enthoo Evolv X"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 15 days ago

I would do that, but I'd probably screw up the case knowing me. Most complex thing I would do is make a custom I/O shield for the RPi or something. But I will keep this in mind though, as it seems like a good idea

Forum Topic "Raspberry Pi in an Enthoo Evolv X"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 16 days ago

Thanks, I will look into it. I may hide it at the top where the miniITX system is supposed to go with some sheets of metal

Forum Topic "Does the corsair k70 have a "normal" layout for keycaps."

rogdog56 1 point 17 days ago

http://www.wasdkeyboards.com Check these out, they make custom keycaps for cherryMX switches. All will fit for k70 excluding the spacebar. Also check out these http://keypop.bigcartel.com/ because they have a selection of some Miami colours. I have no idea about custom parts for mice, though. I've actually been looking for some of those myself for a G PRO WIRELESS or a G502 mouse.

Awesome. Great case too, I'll definitely be buying one. Not to mention, the ability to put dual system in that case... Holy crap. I might mod it to put in my Raspberry Pi.

FrostPix's Completed Build: My 2018 PC Build

rogdog56 1 point 17 days ago

Hey, I don't have this case yet, as I haven't built my PC yet, but I can tell you a few things. The case has decent airflow (dent looking things in the left and right of the front panel) and the HDD cages are also near the front panel, under the power supply shroud, although I think you can mount some to the motherboard tray as well. And coming back to the airflow, unless you want higher performance fans from Corsair or Noctua or BeQuiet, the case includes a great fan config out of the box with 2 140mm in front and 1 140mm in back included. Also, the cable management is great. Although there is a glass side panel, there's a lot of tie down points and even if you're not good at cable management they provide covers for you. Here's a link to phanteks site to look at this case in more detail. http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Evolv-X.html I wish you the best in your PC build! Also, please ignore if google is saying the site is "not secure". It's the official Phanteks website.
