How so is that SSD bad? I am considering it over a samsung due to it's price, will it affect me in coding/gaming?

I know about the sponsoring, I just know that this is the one creator that's actually genuine which is why I thought of purchasing it

Any suggestions for chairs on Amazon? My budget is more $250ish now.

I've been doing more research into the SSD, and have seen that the su655 has a much lower data transfer rate compared to other SSDs like crucial MX500. Should I be worried about this? I can achieve the same price of my partslist if I go with the MX500, I will just need to go with 2tb instead of 1tb for my hard drive.

Thanks. Would've been nice to say "I have 4TB" but 3TB is still a lot for my needs and it's probably better to have 7200 for my needs

ThoughtA's Build Guide: Great AMD Gaming/Streaming Build

rogdog56 1 point 1 day ago

Thanks, I'll probably use it then. I now have space in my budget to add a big hard drive for all 10 seasons of Friends. Just a quick question, for the budget of around $100 for a storage drive other than the SSD, what'd be the best for storing media and some games? 5400RPM 4TB or 7200RPM 3TB?

So I shouldn't be worried about mixed i/o speed and stuff? (from userbenchmark) I'm basically using the drive on my PC for gaming, coding, and schoolwork

I might get DXRacer if I do get a gaming chair, just because the others seem very cheap and while DXRacer doesn't look too much better, I've been seeing them around in youtube videos and stuff for years and they seem a reliable company with decent product reviews. Thanks

Forum Topic "Good gaming chair for under $330?"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 2 days ago

I've tried a few gaming chairs at my friend's houses and found them really comfortable, in fact I fell asleep in one but I've lost contact with the friend and have no idea what brand it was. So I have experience there but no experience with office chairs, but I'll be sure to try a few out before I make my decision

ThoughtA's Build Guide: Great AMD Gaming/Streaming Build

Nice partslist, these are always great to recommend to people. Is the Adata drive decent? Seems a lot cheaper than the Samsung one I was considering, and losing those 40 gigs isn't too big of a deal for that $50 decrease.

Forum Topic "Good gaming chair for under $330?"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 2 days ago

Thanks, I'll probably try that, just trying to plan ahead (as I'm not in the US yet.) I don't have any idea what's good for my back though, as the only desk chair I've used has been a generic office chair with a mesh back and a coloured bottom for seating.

Also, the reason I was considering this youtuber's opinion over all others is because I know they're genuine and trustworthy. They even once made a video 7 seconds short of the 10 minute mark. They had about 6 or 7 issues with this chair, but when I went over them I don't think I'd have an issue with them, which is why I was thinking about the chair. Not meaning to advertise, but I'd genuinely recommend his channel, it's called BulletBarry.

Nice build, it looks funky (haven't used that word in at least 7 years). No problem with 2600x stock cooler though, many have auto overclocked to 4 ghz with it.

Forum Topic "First PC, I need help!"

rogdog56 1 point 3 days ago

This looks good, although if you spend just 10 ish more you can get a 1tb hard drive, which will be far superior value.

Also, assuming you're only gaming, Intel's i3 is a great deal. But if you plan to video-edit or do anything beyond single-threaded applications in the future, I would recommend AMD's Ryzen platform.

Nice build, I love the parts and monitor, some quality stuff in there. Can you post more photos of your setup? The headset hanger on the monitor is "shown" on MSI's website, but it's only on the back of the monitor on an extreme closeup and you can't really tell where it is.

Forum Topic "Phones"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 5 days ago

Not even close lol.

It is pretty close to a NK incarnate of an operating system if you look at all of the things they restrict.

Forum Topic "Phones"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 6 days ago

I don't think they can just go and block access to random apps.

They do, try downloading any non-app store app, and it'll be revoked

Dude even Android isn't that omnipotent. It sounds like you want to write your own OS.

Not sure what you mean by this. I was referring to apps and customization, which you can do a lot of on Android.

Lol

???

Forum Topic "Phones"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 6 days ago

glad to know you would willingly give up your rights for a particular cell phone

No one with android that I know has privacy issues. Bad point in the first place.

an app store is not a fundamental component of how a smartphone operates

So a messenger or other third party software used for communication (if you don't like stock) isn't fundamental for a SMARTphone?

Forum Topic "Phones"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 6 days ago

Is Apple physically stopping you from doing so? No.

Yes, they do, because if you download a non-app store app that they don't want you to have, they'll just revoke it and make you no longer able to open it. Emulators? Gone. File editors? Gone. Recording softwares (For people not running latest firmware where it's built in?) Gone.

Explain how so. What are they physically stopping you from doing? The only restriction I can think of that fits with your thoughts is that you can't download apps directly from web sites. That doesn't define "awful restrictive nature" to me.

They physically stop you from downloading any app you want, and customizing anything you want. Which as the person who owns the phone, I should be able to do. If I download a virus, just like with a computer, that's my fault, but generally you don't download "frEe fortnIxte!!".exe.apk from the website "http://iwanttodie.com"

But you make it sound like iOS is North Korea incarnate.

Yeah, it kind of is.

nothing forcing you to buy their products or use their stock apps

Fair point, but one thing I hate is how if you're in say, Notes, and you prefer chrome browser over safari, it will still open safari with no option to change it.

Forum Topic "Phones"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 6 days ago

Prime has a decent amount more of customization, such as swiping, pinching, and other things. Really unlocks your phone, from what I've read.

Forum Topic "Phones"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 6 days ago

Thanks, I was planning rooting anyways so I could get the most out of my phone

Forum Topic "Phones"

rogdog56 submitter 0 points 6 days ago

Apple IS extremely restrictive in terms of apps. Off of the top of my head, they restricted emulators, screen recording softwares, file editing softwares, and more. I should have the choice if I want those or not, it's my device. And if I can't do what I want with my device, I don't really care about my privacy as a customer. It's like buying a car with no engine and then the company who sold it to you saying "Hey, we'll give you lifetime insurance for FREE!"

Forum Topic "Phones"

rogdog56 submitter 1 point 7 days ago

Apple slowing down older phones for battery life is BS and it's why I'm not upgrading. Last time I upgraded, my battery life and performance got worse. Thanks, Apple.

Yeah, I was planning on getting nova launcher prime with the phone because someone reviewing the Razer phone was saying how nice it was to have it built in, so I'll probably just pick it up on the play store.

Thanks

Forum Topic "Phones"

rogdog56 submitter 0 points 7 days ago

I don't care, I should be able to download what I want on my own phone, apple is way too restrictive and can't trust the customer to not download a (99.9% of the time) painfully obvious shady app.

You can't seriously be excusing awful restrictive nature with this.
