Thanks! So far its great. I'm not overclocking but I've been doing some huge matrix manipulations on all 8 cores for long periods of time, with no problem.

Good point, though right now it's purely Ubuntu server so I can hold off on the graphics card.

Thanks! I don't think that board will fit my case since its ATX and not microATX... Do you know of any microATX boards that have 8+2 phase VRMs? How badly do you think it will throttle back as it is? I still haven't got the processor yet so I can't tell you what its currently doing.

Edit: I started looking into this myself. You're right that the VRMs (I just learned a lot about VRMs) are not cooled and Gigabyte recommends cooling them for overclocking. Since I'm not overclocking, I'm less worried but still worried so I checked Amazon and Newegg. There are 7 people on Amazon and 5 people on Newegg that used this combination with good results (some even overclocked!).
