For sure! I was able to overclock my 2600 to 4.225ghz at 1.318v.
+1 for Team Dark Pro
Nice AMD build. Swiss Army knife?! Haha!!! Did you follow the Verge PC build? Seriously though great PC. +1
Try jumping the power on terminal on the Mobo with a screw driver.
Great build and great parts selection. +1
+1 for the top 580
Nice amd build. Amazon sells PCIe black PCIe slot grills.
I have a 2600 and a 580 and it’s fantastic at apex. I have all the settings maxed out at 1080p 60fps.
Nice amd build.
Nice AMD build. I’m really happy with mine. Destiny 2 and Apex everything maxed out 1080p 60fps, no problems. Are you planning to overclock? I got my 2600 to 4.225ghz and my strix 580 to 1501mhz.
Nice build. How accurate is the cam tool? I was thinking about doing the same but I’ve read it’s not real time.
Pretty stout htpc. Nice build.
Great build! Very similar to mine. I love the 2600-580 combo. I overclocked my 2600 to 4.225 ghz and the 580 to 1501mhz. It runs smooth. Nice job. Thumbs up!
Sold. Thanks everyone for checking it out. I hope it’s going to a good home.
Nice build! I just switched from Mac mini to PC in November. Basically, I built the same pc as you. I love it! Check mine out. Let me know what you think. Good job!
Do you notice a difference with the fan on the VRMs? Just wondering about temps and overclock.
Nice build! Love my rx580.
That gpu will handle games like destiny 2 at max settings @ 60-70 FPS 1080p with ease. I have a rx580 and have no issues. Great build man!
Solid build. I just finished a similar build. I adjusted the fan profile on my gpu and now I don’t go over 65c with the 580 clocked at 1501MHz. There’s some headroom with a good cooler on that cpu too. I noticed a big improvement on loading times with a decent m.2 drive.
Nice build. I also love the ROG strix brand. I 3d printed a custom drive bay fan adapter with the ROG logo. Check out my build and let me know what you think. https://pcpartpicker.com/b/NvkdnQ
Yes you should have 2 hdmi, 2 display port and sometimes a dvi or 2 on the graphics card. Don’t use the hdmi on the motherboard.
Probably should connect it to the GPU.
I know it sounds dumb but is your monitor plugged into your GPU or the motherboard. Because if everything else is hooked up properly you should be hitting much higher FPS right out of the box without adjusting anything.
Sorry I meant xmp
Great build! For the RAM, all RAM is set to 2133 by default. In the bios, you can enable SMT. It should automatically set to your ram speed.
I checked out that build. Super clean. I can’t find any good audio and usb extensions on amazon or eBay. They all show the colored wires. Maybe I’ll try to use some heat shrink on the ones I have.
Love my Zero
Thanks man. I plan on tidying up the bottom of the motherboard a bit. That’s the one part that’s standing out to me. I don’t like that you can see the multi colored wires.
I too was looking for a solution to this. I found some PCIe m.2 adapters that had very good reviews. But then I discovered that when the number 2 PCIe slot is used the both slots become x8. I did some more research and the rx580 uses x8. So, you can use the #2 m.2 or a PCIe adapter and be fine.
I had mine on the bottom also. Looks better there.
Clean! Love the custom gpu backplate. One thing probably not a big deal with the 1070. The bottom m.2 changes the #1 PCIe slot from x16 to by x8.
Nice. I’m running my 2600 at 4.225ghz 1.318v under heavy benchmarks I hit 70c. While gaming I don’t go over 65c. Anyways, awesome build.
Check your power supply. Mine was a seasonic titanium. A high end psu. Sometime they are just doa. A power supply tester is like 10 bucks. Amazon eBay or Microcenter have them. I had the exact same symptoms. Bad power supply.
Just curious at 4.9ghz what’s your voltage? And 85c is kinda hot, how stable is your system?
I agree. Should have gone with a 2600. And why 3 sticks of mismatched ram?
I would check to make sure the backplate is secure against the motherboard and not touching any part of the case. If you assembled th cooler while it’s inside the case it’s possible that the backplate is cross threaded and sitting crooked.

Finally got the new psu and everything is perfect. Hope this thread helps someone diagnose there problem. Thanks everyone
My suspicion is Mobo. But..... I had similar issues and it was the psu. You can buy a psu tester on eBay or amazon for like 10 bucks. Second. You can go to a pc repair shop and see if they will test your gpu. The guy by my house charged me 20 bucks and even gave me a stress test report. If those two things are functioning it’s prob time to return the motherboard.
Obviously you already checked all the plugs, ram, gpu and cpu are seated properly.
If it’s that old of a psu maybe just drop 40 bucks on a new one. I don’t think trying to rig up 2 psu’s is a good idea.
Thanks man. I didn’t think about the 2200g. I just updated the part list. I know the psu is old but I like seasonic’s quality. I have a prime 600w fanless in my current pc and I love it. Maybe I’ll pick a more current PSU from them.
I had the same issue. I got a psu tester. You can get one cheap at Microcenter or amazon, even eBay for like 10 bucks. Tried another psu. Both weren’t putting out sufficient voltage on the 24 pin. My psu was bad. Had to send in an RMA.
