Igotpwn3d's Completed Build: Chica-Cherry Cola

vikingXcore 4 Builds 1 point 57 months ago

The cable might be able to be pulled up a bit tighter, but i understand if you don't want to stress them out. Really like the case. Very bold. I'm impressed you kept it all under budget. Cat is definitely adorable. +1 for you!

Dang, makes me wanna return the 780 now. Thanks beastly, you're awesome. Where did you find information on stuff like that by the way?

Thanks for the support! Yeah, I told my wife a couple of hours ago about booting the OS and some apps like Skype on SSD for those purposes because I know even though SSD's are expensive at the same amount of storage as hdd's, but a relatively low amount of storage on a SSD would be reasonably priced and I will definitely look into it in the near future.

As far as pulling parts from the current PC, that's a no-go since even though it's used, we could still get $1000 off it, and the older ones we already sold or got rid of because they were definitely broken.

Yeah, I've read some reviews on the thermal paste and i agree that people are either just geeks or ocd about the whole thing, but it's good to know it's not something I have to reapply.

I know it's fairly high spec'd (note the EDIT i made) even with the LGA1150 socket, but I hope It will handle the burden of extreme couponing (20 google chrome tabs of omggggg). I appreciate you and I will be putting up pics soon.

I appreciate your comments.

I haven't PC gamed in a long, looong time but when I did it was for like WoW, COD: MW2, and Portal. Now I've been playing LoL for a while, which my current PC can handle (duh, mobile phones could probably handle LoL). I mostly PS4 game. What I want to play I guess are games like Watch_dogs, which I have on PS4 so see how the two match up, TitanFall, because I ain't no motherlover with an xbone (hahaha), and probably even BF4 which I still haven't gotten yet for PS4. I've got steam, I just don't play anything intense on my current PC because I mean, it's got an integrated graphics card, ya know? Get me 90+fps on Watch_Dogs, and I'll be happy.

btw my initial reply was in regards to you being able to make a cheaper parts list + the fact i didn't do this before i bought all my parts, so i was complimenting you. and then when i said we have to fight, it was meant as a joke.

Yeah, That's a good list there, is the GTX780Ti Much better than the GTX780 for the price, or is it even that necessary to get the 780Ti?

So, in my house it's partial carpeted. obviously i don't want to cause static, would the wood floor suffice for a grounded area not attracting static?

Well, based off of my parts list, what would need to be adjusted to better fit a custom gaming build? I would want to keep the case and the cpu cooler if at all possible, mainly the mobo, cpu, and gpu are the main interchangeable parts with ram also being a concern. I wanna go for cost effective without sacrificing quality

Ever thought about getting the corsair shrinked PSU kits? I might do those in the future just to treat my rig, lol.

for CPU cooling, if you're into decent liquid cooling, I got a Corsair Hydro Series H105 that's pretty big, but it fits inside the case without looking too cramped (corsair 450D is the case), and the pump assembly comes with 3 colors including blue.

They also got cheaper smaller coolers that are nice too!

That is a great build you have there! Always cheaper to just spend the hour to put together a desktop that's cheaper per pc than settling with a "convenient" contract. I hope your peers are super jelly of you. I hope you earn mad respect at your company for this little beast!

I like the build very much, it looks really solid. and if the price is around what your friend paid for, I'd say you did really well for yourself. clean cable management going on which is a plus, now to make it light up like a christmas tree! Just my opinion.

Intense set up you got there. Much respect for the AMD, even though i myself am building an intel rig. What are you doing in college that requires that much power btw?

You sir, have a very clean setup. did your friend/teacher help manage the cables, or was that all you? Also, if my wife saw that dog, she might die. thank god I'm at work so I don't have to risk the funeral :p. Also, I like the color coordination you have going on. And that case is sick and looks pretty spacious.
